Not all women worry about overwashing or damaging their hair. Not all women have to. I say this knowing plenty of women are almost obsessive when it comes to washing their hair daily, thinking they are doing the hair good by keeping it clean. These women MUST have one of two things in common, one being they do not have color treated hair, or, they truly have no idea the damage it can cause & have been mislead in the hair care department.
Personally, my hair has been colored or bleached since I can remember. Aside from the desire to learn for my own upkeep, I was a cosmetologist for years & happen to know the ins & outs of what to do & what not to do in order to preserve the color & health of your locks.
These simple steps include the following…
1.Use color treated shampoo & conditioner.
2.Do NOT wash the mane daily.
3.If you must use heat, you must use a heat protectant product.
4.Dry shampoo is THE BEST, TRUEST product for ALL hair types. Also known as miracle spray. 😇
5.Skull caps, sun hats, wraps & ball caps are the next best thing for covering up that root growout or nappy headed in between wash days!
A few valid reasons to follow these hair laws would consist of the following…
1.Color treated shampoo & conditioner helps to prevent your color from fading, changing & repair some of the damage done by coloring. 💁🏼
2.Washing your hair every day can seriously dry it out 😖
3.Lice prefer clean hair as it is easier for them to move around in 🤢
4.As dry as it may cause certain hair types to become, others may experience some serious oil problems! And really, how clean does an oily scalp actually look or feel? NOT!
5.Heat protectant is a must, if you must, on the deepest of levels! Hair & heat don’t play well together, breakage galore, split ends, leaving follicles open & exposed to all sorts of damaging factors!
6.Dry shampoo is heaven sent! It’s an AMAZING way to clean, refresh & cover those oily roots from skipping a day or so. It’s a great volume booster (better than most actual volume boosters), and
7.A hat or accessory of many sorts is another great way to hide your unkept mane. Hats aren’t just an accessory for men. Come to think of it, they would look awful funny with a sun hat 😆😆 Either way, this is a sure fire, simple way to get through another day without washing your hair! Just be sure to wash your cover-ups every now & then to!
A list of specifics that work wonders for me!
1.Aussie 7-in-1 Dry Shampoo (cheap & effective)
2.My hair is currently dyed red & sulfate-free shampoo & conditioner is a necessity! What works for me is-“ion color solutions”
3.As far as caps go, I prefer skull caps with a saggy backside (😆😆) here’s where I got mine! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼https://www.amazon.com/CacheAlaska-Slouchy-Beanie-Skull-Summer/dp/B071YCCHMD/ref=sr_1_137?ie=UTF8&qid=1495731932&sr=8-137&keywords=beanie+summer
4.For protecting my hair from further damage by heat, I like to use “CHI 44 iron guard” & “Rock your hair Hot Curls thermal spray” . Both readily available & Sallys & some Walmart stores!
